Alicia and Jonathon Zolkoske

Alicia and her husband Jonathan created the Gerald “Jerry” Lolwing Scholarship in honor of Alicia’s father, ensuring his memory and values live on through future generations of students.

Born and raised in southwestern Wisconsin, Gerald “Jerry” Lolwing built his life in Platteville, where he raised his family alongside his wife, Sue, and proudly served the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for 31 years. Jerry began his career as a program assistant in the mechanical engineering department in 1985. His commitment to lifelong learning led him to earn a Bachelor’s degree in business in 1992 and a Master’s degree in agricultural business in 1997—all while working full-time.

UW-Platteville holds deep meaning for the entire Lolwing family. All three of Jerry’s daughters worked at the university, and multiple generations have graduated from UW-Platteville. Jerry continually emphasized to his children and grandchildren the importance of never stopping learning, and his dedication to education reached its pinnacle when he became an adjunct professor in the business department in 1997.

This scholarship honors Jerry’s unwavering values by empowering young adults to pursue their educational goals and embodies the legacy he wished to carry forward.
