Brenda Matthias

Brenda Matthias understands firsthand how quickly life circumstances can change. As a high school senior, she dreamed of attending and graduating from college, possibly earning an accounting degree. However, shortly after graduating, she became a mother, and her priorities shifted dramatically. Life transformed into a new and challenging journey that required resilience, determination, and perseverance.

Since 1981, she has worked hard to overcome life’s obstacles and learned that many people face changing priorities, circumstances beyond their control, and unexpected hardships. Through those experiences, she developed a strong belief that challenges can be overcome by maintaining a positive mindset, acting ethically, and staying focused on personal goals. Today, she owns and operates her own business and enjoys helping others pursue their dreams.

Believing that a college education can open doors to greater career opportunities and financial independence, she established the B. Matthias Scholarship to help reduce financial barriers for students pursuing business degrees. Through this scholarship, she hopes to invest in the future of students who demonstrate resilience, determination, and a commitment to achieving their educational and professional goals.
