Keri Pustina

Keri Pustina was a woman who made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was the kind of person who would wipe away a tear, bring a smile to your face, and make those around her feel cared for. Keri’s life was tragically cut short in a car accident on September 23, 2004. In her memory, her family established this scholarship to honor her life, her dedication to her community, and the many people she touched.

Keri was a longtime employee of the University of Wisconsin–Platteville’s Facilities Management Department. During her career, she was involved in numerous construction and improvement projects across campus. Among her notable projects were the renovations of Pioneer Tower and Russell Hall, as well as the development of the infrastructure for the Pioneer Horticulture Gardens. Her work helped shape and improve the UW–Platteville campus she cared about.

Keri also had a great love of sports and enjoyed both watching and attending sporting events. Volleyball held a special place among her favorites, with the Green Bay Packers close behind. She was also deeply committed to her community, serving as an active member of the Iowa-Grant School Board for many years.

Above all, Keri was a devoted wife and loving mother. She and her husband, Pete, raised three daughters: Kelly (Dave) Vogelsberg, Pam Pustina, and Linda (Dave) Friesen. She was also a proud grandmother to Owen, Nolan, and Aiden.

Keri’s family is honored to carry on her memory by supporting an Iowa-Grant High School senior who will attend the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. Through this scholarship, Keri’s love for her family, community, UW–Platteville, and the people around her continues to make a difference in the lives of students.
