Steven and Julitta "Jill' Schielke
Jill graduated from Platteville Platteville High School and continued her education by graduating from UW-Platteville with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health and obtaining her Master’s degree from UW-Whitewater. On April 7, 1984, she was united in marriage to Steven Schielke at Zion Lutheran Church in Platteville.
Jill was the first Platteville High School student to participate at the state gymnastics competition. She was a cheerleader in both high school and at UW-Platteville. She enjoyed swimming and became a lifeguard at the Platteville community pool.
After graduating from UW-Platteville, Jill taught physical education and health while coaching girl’s gymnastics and volleyball at Union Grove Union High School. During her teaching, Jill enjoyed her relationship with many students while developing many friendships with students, parents and fellow teachers.
Jill was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and attended many Green Bay home games. After retirement, Jill and Steve would attend one Packer away game each year. Jill was an avid fan of Brett Favre, attending his Hall of Fame induction in Canton, Ohio. She was an avid fan of Favre only when Rodgers was not in the room.
Jill followed her mother in supporting the John Barth Foundation in rewarding a scholarship to a Platteville High School student. She loved attending their annual scholarship breakfast each year in Madison.
Steven, Jill’s husband, continues to support UW-Platteville in memory of Jill who passed away in 2024.
