James Belongia Scholarship
James graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1959. He went onto attend Platteville State University graduating with a bachelor and masters degree in teaching, specializing in Agriculture, Shop and Auto Mechanics. He served two years in the International Volunteer Service in Laos. James taught auto mechanics, agriculture and shop classes in Spring Green and later in Wautoma, before retiring at a young age to pursue a hobby of working with wood.
The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in Education
2. Applicants must demonstrate financial need based off of a submitted FAFSA
The James Belongia Scholarship is renewable for up to four years (eight semesters), provided the student remains an Education major and continues to demonstrate financial need based on a submitted FAFSA.
