Valerie D. (Beighley) Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Valerie attended the former UW-Platteville Lab School and graduated from Platteville High School in 1972. She received a four-year scholarship from the American Association for Gifted Children and graduated from UW-Platteville in 1976, with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in Voice.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be a new freshman
2. Applicants must be majoring in Education (Elementary through Middle School)
3. First preference will be given to applicants with an emphasis in Fine Arts or Humanities
4. Second preference will be given to applicants who are majoring in Secondary Education with concentrations in English, Foreign Language, Fine Arts or interdisciplinary studies in the Humanities
