Alice Keegan Memorial Scholarship for Riverdale Wisconsin High School
Ms. Alice Keegan was a Chemistry teacher at Riverdale High School in the 1950s and 60s. During this time one of her students, Myron “Mike” Jacobson, was greatly influenced by her. Mike was so influenced by Ms. Keegan that he continued his education at UW-Platteville with a major in Chemistry. Upon graduation from UW-Platteville Mike continued his education at Kansas State University and earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry. Along with his academic career Mike and his wife Elaine have been heavily involved in research relating to the roles of niacin and niacin derived molecules in human health.
