Chester and Susan Dziekanowski Scholarship

Chester T. Dziekanowski began his 38 year teaching career at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in September of 1965. Chester loved teaching. He expected his students to put forth effort and learn. He was fond of saying that he was giving students “their money’s worth.” Chester often took student groups on trips to the Everglades, Louisiana, and Texas. Hard working and humorous are two words that described Chester. One of Chester’s contributions to the UWP Biology department was the Herbarium. Chester carefully organized collections of pressed and labeled plant specimens from around the world. Many of the specimens had actually been collected by Chester or his students on various trips.
