Ellie Weber Memorial Scholarship
Ellie Weber’s relationship with music began at a very young age. A gifted musician, Ellie led many choirs over the years. She was particularly fond of working with young people and helping them to find their voice as well as women’s choruses where in addition to making beautiful music she formed many long-lasting friendships. Ellie continued to play until her health no longer allowed her to but always maintained the hope that she would once again be able to sit and play her beloved piano. The Ellie Weber Memorial Scholarship has been established by her husband Richard E. Weber (UW-Platteville Class of 1960) as a tribute to his wife and a means to continue her encouragement and nurturing of young musicians for generations to come by helping the next generations of music educators.
