Dr. Mike Roy Biology Exploration Award

Michael (Mike) J. Roy attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 1965 to 1969. His most memorable days at UWP were of biology field trips, in chemistry and biology laboratories, of work-study in biology, walking the woods and paddling the rivers of Southwest Wisconsin, and of the friends and teachers he came to know during those years in Platteville. Although Mike’s profession long ago strayed from botany to zoology and even though he will never be a graduate of the plant sciences or forestry, he has come full-circle, back to the plant biology of this wonderful region. Mike created this scholarship to inspire students who appreciate biology as he does.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be a continuing student
2. Applicants must be of sophomore standing or higher
3. Applicants must be majoring in Biology
4. Applicants must submit an unofficial transcript
