Harold "Hoot" and Ruth Goke Huttenburg Scholarship

Harold “Hoot” and Ruth Huttenburg graduated in 1941 from Platteville State Teachers College, now the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, as first generation students. Hoot and Ruth maintained close ties to UW-Platteville throughout their lives by maintaining college friendships, attending reunions, and supporting the UW-Platteville Alumni Association and Foundation. Their children created this scholarship to help first generation students earn degrees as Hoot and Ruth did.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be of sophomore, junior, or senior standing
2. Applicants must be have a major in the College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (EMS) or Agricultural Education
3. Applicants must demonstrate financial need
4. Preference will be given to applicants who are first generation students

The Harold “Hoot” and Ruth Goke Huttenburg scholarship is renewable so long as the recipient remains eligible per the above criteria.
