Duane Bark Memorial Scholarship
Duane spent his life as an educator, administrator, coach, leader, and mentor. At the time of his death, he was serving as the Superintendent for the Markesan School District. Duane influenced and impacted countless lives in various school districts he has served. During his career in public education, Duane served as an administrator and educator in numerous Wisconsin public school districts, including the Riverdale School District, Prairie du Chien Area School District, and River Valley School Districts. Duane’s greatest mission in life was to help others reach their full potential and in return he earned the love and respect of many. He coached many sports for 32 years including football, wrestling, softball and baseball. He had a special place in his heart for student athletes.
The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants can be a first-year or a continuing student
2. Applicants must be an Education major
3. Applicants must have attended a Wisconsin High School.
Students may reapply and be selected as the recipient again for the Duane Bark Memorial Scholarship.
