George Kettler Memorial Scholarship in Biology

George H. Kettler attended the Platteville Mining School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering. He was interested in butterflies and other insects and enjoyed studying them. Since Biology is a prerequisite of nursing, he created this scholarship to help those students who are planning a nursing career or working in laboratories to help discover cures for diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, bones, etc.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in Biology
2. Preference given to applicants who are enrolled in Pre-Professional Nursing
3. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need
