Glenn H. and Florence C. Fritz Scholarship

Glenn Fritz, married to Florence Fritz, owned and operated Glenn H Fritz, Inc for 30 years. His company was a distributor of accessories for rotary drilling for the mining, water well and exploration industries. Glenn traveled throughout the USA, interacting with a number of fellow graduates from the mining program at Platteville. Glenn has been a frequent attendee at alumni reunions at UW-Platteville. He was instrumental in bringing his classmates together for their 50th (Golden) Reunion in 1990. He has maintained his connection to UW-Platteville, evident with the “M” step that he purchased and those that he purchased for his classmates. Additionally, Glenn has honored his class through his donation to the engineering building, constructed in 2008, and the subsequent room dedication to the ‘Miners of the Class of 1940.’

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be a first-year student
2. Applicants must graduate from Fennimore School District, Fennimore, WI
3. Preference will be given to applicants majoring in Engineering
4. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need
