Dave Ingwell Memorial Scholarship

Dave, as he is described by his students: “A man who molded his students into leaders through his undeniable dedication and selflessness. He did everything that he could for the students and was in love with what they were working on.” A student speaking at Dave’s funeral on behalf of the SAE chapter stated, “I remember Dave as having a constant desire to learn about his work, which taught students never to retire the passion for knowledge and self-betterment.” He also thanked Dave for being the perfect example of what a person should be. Another SAE team captain said, “Dave was a friend, as well as a boss and mentor. Dave positively impacted each student by transforming the shop into a place where learning, safety and ingenuity can be experienced by all.”

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior
2. Applicants must be involved in the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) at UW-Platteville
3. If no applicants are involved in SAE, then preference is given to students involved in any engineering student organization
