Tony Thomas Scholarship

Anthony D. “Tony” Thomas was a professor of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, starting his career as an assistant professor in 1994 and rising to the rank of full professor in 2004. He served as a full professor in the Department of Mathematics from 2004 until his death in 2011 at the age of 49. He also had a distinguished career as a musician, most notably as the lead guitarist of a local rock band known as Fallen Roadies. The primary purpose of this scholarship is to recognize and aid talented individuals who have worked, or are working, to overcome serious obstacles in their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be of sophomore, junior, or senior standing
2. Applicants must be majoring of minoring in music or mathematics OR be an education major with an emphasis in music or mathematics
