Francis 1931 and Estelle (Sherer) Piquette 1933 Endowed Scholarship in Education and Engineering
Francis (F.B) and Estelle (Sherer) Piquette were born and raised in Wisconsin where they attended Platteville High School. Francis graduated from the Mining School in 1931 and Estelle received her Education degree from Platteville State Teacher’s College in 1933. Francis and Estelle had five children Joan, John, Ruth, Richard and Rita —four of whom graduated from UW-Platteville with degrees in Education. The scholarship was established In honor of Francis and Estelle’s dedication to education and the local university
The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in either Education or Engineering
2. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher
3. Preference will be given to applicants who are a first-year student from Platteville High School
4. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need
