Linda A. Hoffman Criminal Justice Scholarship

The scholarship was established in honor of Linda Hoffman by her mother, Cecile Hoffinan. Linda’s father was a Professor of Agriculture at UWP and her mother was an Instructor of Family and Consumer Education at UWP. Linda graduated with academic honors from UW-Platteville in 1992 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She received a Law Degree from the University of Missouri in 1995. She served as a Prosecuting Attorney in Franklin County, Missouri for several years before returning to Wisconsin. Currently, she is an Assistant District Attorney in Portage, WI. (Columbia County). Linda is dedicated to the field of law enforcement. She has a strong desire to encourage University students to pursue careers in law enforcement by providing financial support and professional recognition to them.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be continuing students
2. Applicants must be majoring in Criminal Justice
3. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
4. Applicants must show evidence of active campus involvement and/or community service
