Minotte Perseverance Scholarship

Dr. Greg Boys graduated in 1994 with a Mechanical Engineering degree and Mrs. Priya Devaguptapu-Boys, graduated from the University of Platteville in 1992 with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Economics. During their time at UW-Platteville they became friends with Tony Minotte. Tony graduated from UW-Platteville in 1994 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. His life is a story of great perseverance and success in overcoming personal and economic hurdles. He was the first in his family to attend college. He is a cancer survivor. In college he was very active in sports and in the engineering department. Dr. Boys and his wife Priya established this scholarship to reward students whose own story closely matches that of their friend Tony. They hope this scholarship will help current students achieve the success of their friend.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be of sophomore, junior, or senior standing
2. Applicants must be majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
3. Preference will be given to applicants who are first generation students
4. Preference will be given to applicants who has exhibited strong desire to attain degree despite hardships
5. Preference will be given to applicants who are involved with campus community
