Virgil and Helen Prine Scholarship in Technology Education

Virgil H. Prine graduated from Darlington High School in 1933 and then from UW-Platteville in 1938 with a B.S. in Secondary Education. Virgil was united in marriage to Helen T. Rokusek on Aug. 24, 1939. They settled in Darlington, and Virgil first taught industrial education at the Darlington High School and later taught in McHenry, IL. Virgil’s life work was that of teaching in the field of industrial arts for 34 years. This scholarship was created in memory of the life work of Virgil and Helen Prine.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in Technology and Engineering Education
2. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher
3. Applicants must demonstrate financial need
4. Preference will be given to recipients entering their sophomore year
