McCullough-Wetzel Scholarship

This scholarship was created to honor two UW-Platteville professors, Earl S. McCullough and Richard A. Wetzel. Earl’s accomplishments include teaching for 48 years and obtaining five college degrees. While at UW-Platteville, his specialty was Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering. Richard’s accomplishments include teaching Civil Engineering at both the Illinois Institute of Technology and UW-Platteville. Some of the courses that he taught include Fluid Mechanics, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, and Senior Design.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering
2. Applicants must be of senior standing
3. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
4. Applicants must demonstrate leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities
