Irving Gerhardt Scholarship

Irving Gerhardt was born on Sept. 5, 1912 , in Neillsville, Wisconsin, and was a high school agriculture instructor for 44 years in Wisconsin. Gerhardt served in the navy as a lieutenant from 1944–46. He earned a national reputation by receiving the Honorary American Farmer Degree in 1975 for outstanding service to the Future Farmers of America, and the Teacher of the Teachers Gold Award from the National Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be of sophomore standing or higher
2. Applicants must have a major in the School of Agriculture
3. Applicants must show academic achievement and involvement in activities
4. Applicants must demonstrate financial need
