Criminal Justice Alumni Scholarship

Upon retirement, Joe Lomax and Dr. David Van Buren realized they wanted to establish an annual Criminal Justice scholarship for students pursuing careers in Criminal Justice. After consulting other long term faculty members, including Professors Kathryn Winz, Robert Warfield, Cheryl Fuller, Edward Ross, and Aric Dutelle, this idea received overwhelming enthusiasm and support. This scholarship will acknowledge and celebrate the fact that the UW-Platteville Criminal Justice program, faculty and alumni have made significant contributions and impact the field of Criminal Justice.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must have a be majoring in Criminal Justice
3. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.7 or higher
4. Applicants must demonstrate financial need
5. Applicants must be successfully engaged in forms of student leadership, community service, extracurricular activities, student governance, internship, and/or research
