John I. and Barbara L. (Bishop) Boldt Scholarship
John, a Platteville native, graduated from UW-Platteville in 1976 with a BS in Civil Engineering. On campus he was involved in Theta Tau and the Hockey Club. He is currently President & CEO of Clark Dietz, Inc., a consulting engineering firm with offices in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. Barb (Bishop) Boldt, a native of Cobb, WI, received a BS in Mathematics and English, Secondary Education in 1976. On campus, she was active as a member of the Exponent staff, a Resident Assistant in Dobson Hall, and Co-Chairman of the Homecoming Committee. Barb has spent her career teaching mathematics courses ranging from seventh grade through early college level. Additionally, she has served as a university supervisor for student teachers, a department chair in mathematics, a tutor, and a mentor for new educators.
The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be a sophomore, junior, or senior
2. Applicants must be majoring in either Engineering or Mathematics/Mathematics Education
3. Preference will be give to applicants majoring in Civil Engineering or Mathematics Education
4. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
5. Applicants must be active in student or community service organizations
