Ernest Christiansen Memorial Scholarship

Ernie attended UW-Platteville in 1961 where he earned his degree in agriculture/farming. His interest in agriculture began with 4-H as a child, as well as working on the family farm where it continued to be an important part of his life . He continued his involvement in the agricultural world working at the UW Extension office, participating in 4-H at different levels, while acquiring the family farm where his children then learned the value of farming and hard work. Over the years Ernie continued to donate to UW-Platteville, because he was well aware of the importance to continue the education of students in the ever changing agricultural industry. He would have been proud and honored to support another student in the their agriculture career.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must have a major in the School of Agriculture
2. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.7 or higher
3. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need
4. Preference will be given to continuing students
