Ted and Sande Richards Scholarship

A native of Platteville, Theodore J. “Ted” Richards completed his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Wisconsin Platteville in 1961. Throughout his career, Ted has remained very dedicated to his alma mater. He has served on the board of the UW-Platteville Alumni Association, the Engineering Alumni Board, and the Engineering Advisory Council. This scholarship was created by Ted and his wife Sande in appreciation for what they received from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in Civil Engineering
2. Applicants must be be of sophomore standing at the time of application
3. Applicants must be involved in extra-curricular activities related to their major
4. Applicants demonstrating financial need may be used as the final criterion in choosing a recipient
