Lewis E. Ewers Memorial Scholarship

Lewis E. Ewers, a 1918 graduate of Platteville State Teachers College and a member of the Wisconsin National Guard, serving during WWII, was best known for his dedicated 35 years of teaching Agricultural Education in the Elroy-Kendall-Wilton School District. Lewis gave untiringly to his agriculture students, and his contribution to these people is immeasurable. Besides teaching agriculture, one could find Lewis organizing and teaching a physical education program, coaching the grade-school basketball and tumbling teams, advising one of the classes; leading an active 4-H program, teaching adult classes, or, more than likely, spending all of his spare time with FFA activities. This scholarship was created by the students, friends, and family of Lewis Ewers in his honor and memory.
