Drs. Raymond and Elizabeth Duewer Music Scholarship
Raymond G. Duewer taught in the Agriculture Sciences program and Elizabeth Duewer served as a senior lecturer in the Department of Biology, both for nearly 30 years at at the University of Wisconsin- Platteville. Their son, John Duewer, attended UW-Platteville for 2 years before he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and then the U.S. Army. Their daughter, Mary (Duewer) Dougherty, earned her bachelor’s degree at UWP in Biology with a Chemistry minor. Their other duaghter, Julia (Duewer) Harman, earned her bachelor’s degree from UWP in Art with a Business minor; she is married to Tom Harman who also attended UW-Platteville where he and Julia met in University Singers.
The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be of at least junior standing
2. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
3. Applicants must have been members of University Singers, the Chamber Choir, or a comparable UW-Platteville mixed choir for a minimum of four semesters
4. Applicants must demonstrate leadership qualities, good character, and dedication to University Singers, the Chamber Choir, or comparable UW-Platteville mixed choir
