Dr. Gerald F. Richards Endowed Scholarship in Chemistry

Gerald F. “Boots” Richards, a native of Platteville, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1957 with a degree in Chemistry. Later he taught Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. At the time of his untimely death in 1994, he was professor of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. This scholarship was created to reward a deserving Chemistry student.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in Chemistry
2. Applicants must be of junior standing
3. Applicants must have promise for graduate work in Chemistry
4. Demonstration of financial need may be used as a final criteria for choosing recipient
