Leo E. and Pheobe W. Boebel Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was originally a memorial to Leo E. Boebel, who was Dean of Arts and Science, and established after his death in 1968. After her death in 1988 his wife, Phoebe W. Boebel, who had been a continued participant in the scholarship fund and other committees relating to the University was added to the fund. Both are UW Platteville alumni who attended in the early 1920s.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be a first-year student
2. Applicants must have graduated from high schools in Crawford, Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland, or Vernon counties
3. Applicants must demonstrate financial need
4. Applicants must showcase academic excellence
5. Preference given to applicants who are first generation students
