John R. Williams Endowed Scholarship

John Robert Williams, a native of Rewey, Wisconsin, attended the State Teachers College, Platteville (now the University of Wisconsin-Platteville) from 1940 through 1942. He had a most successful career in chemical engineering with Richfield Oil Company and his ultimate position as Resident Manager of the Atlantic Richfield Research and Development Center in Anaheim, CA. He passed away on March 3, 1979, a victim of cancer. Mr. Williams credited much of his career success to his education at UWP. His wife, Mrs. Mary Williams, created this scholarship in his memory.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in the College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science
2. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher
