Huldamae Fiske Scholarship in Special Education

Huldamae "Happy " Fiske attended summer school at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1951 and carried a true interest in special education for students. She received her masters degree in Special Education from UW-Milwaukee and taught Adult Education at MATC for 19 years. She then taught third grade students, who were mentally challenged and emotionally disturbed, at a Children’s Home for Milwaukee County. Huldamae taught at the Child and Adolescent Treahnent Center until retirement at the age of 75. She was honored in 1985 as one of the Ten Most Honored Senior Citizens of Wisconsin.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Education
2. Applicants must intend to teach Special Education
