Dr. Robert I. and Myrt Velzy Psychology Scholarship
Robert I. Velzy was hired in 1958 as an instructor of Psychology, director of the Student Union, and director of Food Service at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He was elected chairperson of the Psychology Department in 1987 and served until he retired in 1992. While residing in Platteville, he was organist for the First Congregational Church in Lancaster, Wisconsin, and later became organist and choir director of Trinity Episcopal Church in Platteville. Robert and his wife purchased the organ which is located in the Center for the Arts. He was preceded in death by his wife Myrt. As part of their estate gift, Robert created the Dr. Robert I. and Myrt Velzy Psychology Scholarship.
The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in Psychology with an emphasis on Clinical Psychology or Experimental and Research Psychology
