Thomas Walther Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to recognize and assist a Civil Engineering student whose grades may not be at the “head of the class” but who exhibits financial need and beyond that, a strong work ethic, drive, and a passion to become a successful professional engineer who will always uphold the ASCE Code of Ethics. In particular they will uphold first fundamental principle of “using their knowledge and skill for the enhancement of human welfare and the environment.”

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in Civil Engineering
2. Applicants must be of junior or senior standing
3. Applicants must have a GPA less than 3.0
4. Applicant must demonstrate financial need
5. Preference will be given to applicants who are ASCE Student Chapter Members
