Ruth Harman Walraven Women in Industrial Technology Scholarship

Ruth Harman Walraven typifies a woman who entered and became successful in a non-traditional career- aviation. Ruth went to night school to learn about motors in an aviation class, and in 1932 she became a licensed pilot. Ruth had also become friends with Amelia Earhart. At a time when women were an exception in aviation, Ruth Harman had an exceptional career. The purpose of this scholarship is to address the under-representation of women among students majoring in Industrial Technology Management and Technology Education.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be a first-year, transfer, or a continuing student, with a preference given to first-year or transfer students.
2. Applicants must be female
3. Applicants must be majoring in Engineering Technology Management or Technology and Engineering Education
