Wright Family Scholarship

Robert Wright joined the United States Navy upon graduation from Galena, IL High School in 1960. Robert spent most of his career working for John Deere in Davenport, Iowa, leading a division. He graduated from Wisconsin State University-Platteville in 1967 with a degree in Mathematics. James Wright enlisted in the Marine Corps for three years when he was 17 years old. He was discharged at the rank of Lance Corporal. James earned a bachelor’s degree from Wisconsin State University-Platteville in 1964.

The following criteria shall be used in the annual selection of the recipient(s):
1. Applicants must be majoring in the College of Liberal Arts and Education (LAE)
2. Preference will be given to students from Galena, IL
3. Preference will be given to students who are veterans
