John Morrissey, a proud UW-Platteville alumnus of 2016, earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance. As a student, John was deeply involved on campus. His most impactful experience was working in Residence Life as a Resident Assistant (RA) and Senior Assistant (SA). As part of the inaugural staff at Bridgeway Commons in 2013, John served two years as an RA before becoming an SA at Rountree Commons during his senior year. These roles sparked his passion for Residence Life and inspired him to pursue a Master’s in High Education Administration. Since graduating, John has worked

Keith Gundlach was born in Dodgeville, WI. He graduated in 1969 from Highland High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and graduated with a degree in Social Studies in 1973 and a degree in Agriculture Education in 1977. Keith started his teaching career in Randolph in June 1977 and taught for over 42 years retiring in January 2019 due to ALS , which he had for 13 years and two months. He spent a year and a half mentoring new teachers and writing grants for the Ag Department & FFA . Enrollment grew from 21 students to over 140 students per day. Significant events in

Keri Pustina was a woman who made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was the kind of person who would wipe away a tear, bring a smile to your face, and make those around her feel cared for. Keri’s life was tragically cut short in a car accident on September 23, 2004. In her memory, her family established this scholarship to honor her life, her dedication to her community, and the many people she touched. Lee Zastrow graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2003 following completion of his degree in Computer Science and Business Administration. Lee was extensively involved in FIRST Robotics, the Segregated University Fee Allocation Commission, the College Democrats, and the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Lee served in various capacities in each organization, always adding his own personal touch, based on his values, beliefs, and leadership. The Leo and Phoebe Boebel Memorial Schoalrship was originally a memorial to Leo E. Bcebel, who was Dean of Arts and Science, and established after his death in 1968. After her death his wife, Phoebe W. Boebel, who had been a continued participant in the scholarship fund and other committees relating to the University was added to the fund. Both are UW-Platteville alumni who attended in the early 1920s. Leo was born near Fennimore and served in the Navy for three years during World War II, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander. The Mark and Janice Lee Family established this scholarship to celebrate the important role the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has played in their family. Mark and Janice met at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, then the Wisconsin State University at Platteville, in 1951. Janice (Jones) graduated with a degree in elementary education in 1955. Mark served in the U.S. Army and then finished his degree in agriculture education in 1959. Janice returned to UW-Platteville to earn a masters in education in 1970. The couple farmed for over 65 years and Janice taught for 35 years in

A longtime friend of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Melville ‘Mel’ Cohee is one of the early conservationists in Wisconsin and the United States. Mel assisted the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in developing its Soil and Water Conservation Society student chapter in 1966, now the oldest chapter in the Midwest and the second oldest in the United States. Mel attended Purdue University where he obtained his B.S.A. and M.S.A degreed from the Purdue School of Agriculture in 1931 and 1932 respectively. Michael (Mike) J. Roy was raised in Beloit, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 1965 to 1969. He began majoring in pre-forestry, having been influenced by his participation at Eagle Scout forestry camp, Trout Lake, WI, in 1962. However, he soon developed an appreciation for invertebrate zoology and went on to receive a B.S. degree in Biology (Zoology). His most memorable days at UWP were of biology field trips, in chemistry and biology laboratories, of work-study in biology, from walking the woods or paddling the rivers of SW Wisconsin, and of the friends and

Nancy Ware was born in 1957 to Robert and Frances (Richter) Ware. Nancy graduated from Platteville High School in 1976. She continued her education, graduating from Southwest Technical School in 1986 with degrees in Legal Secretary and Administrative Assistant and then from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville in 1993 with a degree in Business Administration. Nancy worked for Lands’ End for over 30 years. Photographing her nieces, nephews, and countless other students in their sporting events was one of Nancy’s greatest joys. Her life philosophy was to “Give Until it Hurts.” She
